This month marks Father’s Day, we want to send a massive thank you to all the dads, grandads, and father figures who make our centres such vibrant community hubs. We see you bringing the kids to swimming lessons, expertly wrestling toddlers into rashies, and jumping in and creating the fun during family visits to the pool as well as cheering from the sidelines during kids sports. You are the ultimate support crew, but this Fathers Day, we want to shift the focus back to you.
Being a great dad also means taking care of your own physical and mental health and here are a few ways to carve out some time for yourself this month:
Make time for 30 - 45 minutes of movement during the day like going for a walk, run, bike ride or sweat it out at a gym.
Bring your own goggles and knock out a few laps in the pool. Swimming is a fantastic, low impact way to clear your head, stretch out stiff joints, and build cardiovascular fitness.
Make time to stretch out, or simply pop on some music and take a breather or even better spend some time in a spa or steam room/sauna to let your muscles recover.
Thank you for everything you do to keep the next generation active and safe around water. This Father's Day, make sure you take a moment to look after yourself, too!
