Out door Movie Nights
Starting from the beginning of October 2009 BlueFit will be running outdoor movie nights in all their facilities. If a family night out under the stairs watching a classic film on a big screen sounds great, then this event is for you. This year is the first year BlueFit will be running not only movies but also live sporting events like the soccer world cup games. For more information on movie type, location and time please keep an eye on this website and the events calendar.
City 2 Surf
The City 2 Surf is a 14 kilometre fun run, it is the biggest running race in the world and attracts over 60 000 participants. In 2009 BlueFit entered a team of staff, members and the community to participate in this gruelling event. The BlueFit team was given a training program and a running group was held once a week for extra support. The whole day was a huge success for the BlueFit team, with the day ending with a picnic at Bondi to fill some very hungry stomachs. If you want to take part in the 2010 run, information will be put up on our website closer to the date.
Jazz Day
Coming up on the 27th September 2009, BlueFit at Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure Centre will be holding a Jazz day. It is a great way for the kids to enjoy the inflatable and our new aqua balls while you enjoy some great Jazz music on the grass overlooking the outdoor pool. Entry is free for all, starting from 1pm and finishing at 4pm.
Swim-a-thon
The Swim-a-thon is an annual charity event that BlueFit organise. This year was the first event which raised over $13 000 for Lane Cove Rotary. There were over 100 participants on the day and combined the swimmers swum an amazing 235.7km, which is a longer distance than driving from Sydney to Bathurst. The highlight of the day was the handicapped charity race with Eamon Sullivan the Olympic and World Champion placing 3rd. The Swim-a-thon will be run again early in April 2010, you don’t have to be a strong swimmer to enter in this event, it is all about having fun and raising money for a worthy cause.
Kids Birthday Parties
Celebrate your child’s upcoming birthday at one of BlueFit’s Aquatic Centres. These birthday parties are appropriate for kids 2 and above. With a fun filled hour exclusively on the inflatable continued by party food, ice-cream cake, party bags and a free swim after the party; this is a great way to celebrate their birthday.
